RSC Information

The O’Fallon Parks and Recreation Department is committed to conducting its recreation programs and activities in a safe manner and holds the safety of participants in high regard. The City of O’Fallon continually strives to reduce risks and insists that all participants follow safety rules and instructions that are designed to protect the participants’ safety. However, participants and parents/guardians of minors registering for the programs listed in this brochure must recognize that there is an inherent risk of injury when choosing to participate in recreational activities and programs.

You are solely responsible for determining if you or your minor child or ward is physically fit or sufficiently skilled to participate in activities. It is always advisable to consult a physician before undertaking any activity, especially if the participant is pregnant, disabled in any way, or has recently suffered illness, injury, or impairment.

Inclement weather

Programs may be cancelled due to inclement weather. The pool will close for 20 minutes during thunder and lightning. Please see your program instructor for inclement weather guidelines.

Gift certificates

Gift Certificates are available. Please see the front desk staff at the Renaud Spirit Center or call (636) 474-2REC.

Did we make a mistake? We want you to be completely satisfied with our programs. If we have made a mistake, please let us know! Our staff appreciates your comments and will try even harder in the future to eliminate mistakes, but we need to know specifics. Please call us at (636) 474-2REC.

Parking

For the safety of our patrons, please park only in marked spaces. Keep street access, emergency and fire lanes open at all times. Additional parking is available in the west parking lot.

Photograph policy

Photographs are occasionally taken of program and class participants at the RSC. These photographs are used to promote programs listed in the Park and Recreation Guide and other City of O'Fallon publications. If you prefer that you or your child not be photographed, please notify the photographer.

Can you teach?

If you would like to instruct a program for the Division of Recreation Services, we are always looking for new, unique and exciting ideas for classes. Please contact us at (636) 474-8110 to discuss your program ideas.

Instructors are carefully selected to maintain the high quality of O'Fallon Recreation Services programs and should have a practical knowledge of the subject, teaching experience and the ability and desire to instruct.

Food and beverage

No outside food or beverages may be brought into the Renaud Spirit Center. Our staff works diligently to update our concession menu to reflect the current tastes of the community, and we always appreciate your input. No food and beverages purchased within the facility are allowed in the following areas: gymnasium, track, natatorium or fitness center. The only exception is water bottles.

Diaper policy

To protect our patrons’ health, the City of O’Fallon requires children who need diapers to wear a special aquatic or “swim” diaper in the water. Aquatic diapers may be purchased at the front desk. As an alternative, children may wear rubber swim trunks which have elastic around the waist and leg openings. Your compliance with this policy will help us to ensure that we do not have health concerns.

Lock up your valuables!

Renaud Spirit Center users are encouraged to secure clothing and valuables. For your convenience, lockers are available in both men’s and women’s locker rooms. Locks may be rented at the front desk, or you may bring your own. Lockers are limited to one-day use only. Wallet-sized lockers are located in the gym and fitness area. A quarter is needed to use the lockers but is returned when the key is returned.

Locker rooms

Men’s and women’s locker rooms are available for patron use. Toiletries can be purchased at the front desk. Lockers are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Patrons may provide their own locks, or check out a lock at the front desk. Lock supplies are limited and are free to members or available for a small fee to non-members. All locks must be removed when clients leave. Locks left overnight are removed by management.

Children age 7 and older are not permitted in opposite-sex locker rooms. The Renaud Spirit Center also has four family changing rooms available to families and those with disabilities.

Warning of risk

Recreational activities and programs are intended to challenge and engage the physical, mental, and emotional resources of each participant. Despite careful and proper preparation, instruction, medical advice, conditioning, and equipment, there is still a risk of serious injury and/or death when participating in any recreational activity or program. Understandably, not all hazards and dangers can be foreseen. Depending on the particular activity, participants must understand that certain risks, dangers, and injuries due to inclement weather, slipping, falling, poor skill level or conditioning, carelessness, horseplay, unsportsmanlike conduct, defects of the premises, inadequate or defective equipment, inadequate supervision, instruction or officiating, and all other circumstances inherent to indoor and outdoor recreational activities or programs exist. In this regard, it must be recognized that it is impossible for the O’Fallon Parks and Recreation Department to guarantee absolute safety.

Statement of inclusion

The O'Fallon Parks and Recreation Department encourages the participation of people with disabilities in our programs and services. Please let us know how we can best meet your needs. We fully comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in making reasonable accommodations to facilitate participation. This information is available in alternate formats on request.
