Q:

How will my start time be determined?

A:

Start times will be determined by the swim time that is submitted during the registration process; therefore, it is important that an accurate swim time is turned in at registration.


Q:

How do I get to Alligator’s Creek Aquatic Center?

A:

From I-70, take the Highway K/M (Main Street) Exit 217. On Main Street, go north .5 miles. After crossing the railroad tracks, make an immediate left onto Civic Park Drive. Civic Park (and Alligator’s Creek) is 2 blocks down on the right.


Q:

How does my team member know when to start their leg of the race?

A:

The team member should wait at the exit of the transition area ready to go. A simple high five between team mates will do just fine. The runner will wear the race number.


Q:

When is packet pick-up?

A:

Packet pick-up is from 10:00A to 1:00P on Saturday, August 16 at Civic Hall and from 5:30A to 6:30A on race day at Alligator’s Creek Aquatic Center.


Q:

How long will the course stay open?

A:

Participants must be finished by 11:00A. Course marshalls will leave the course at that time.


Q:

If a train interupts my race, will it affect my time and place?

A:

Yes, if a train stops a participant it will affect the participant's time and place.


Q:

How many water stations will be on the course?

A:

There will be no water stations on the bike course. It is strongly recommended that each participant carry a water bottle on the bike course. There will be water stations at the transition area, miles 1 and 2 on the run course, and the finish line.

How can I volunteer at the Alligator’s Creek Triathlon?

A:

Q:

Can anyone follow me in a vehicle on the course to cheer me on?

A:

No, this would cause congestion on the race course. Friends and family may cheer you on at the pool and the finish line.

A:

Q:

What is a serpentine swim?

A:

The swimmer swims up the right side of the lane and back down the right side of the lane and then goes under the lane rope to the next lane, repeating this process six times.

What type of timing system is used for the event?

A:

Fleet Feet Sports who be timing this even using the DAG DIGITAL TIMING. This race is "chipped" time; therefore, the chip is already inserted in your race number.


Q:

Can a participant in the race receive help in the transition area or any portion of the race?

A:

No, if this were to take place the participant will risk being disqualified.


Q:

Will there be a pre-race meeting to discuss the course?

A:

Yes, the pre-race meeting will take place on the pool deck around 6:45A


Q:

Can a friend pick up my race packet?

A:

No, only the participant will be allowed to pick their packet.

What will happen if the event is cancelled due to inclement weather?

A:

In the event of inclement weather and the Triathlon is cancelled no refunds, make-ups, or credit will be given.
